TMS elects new set of officers

A new set of officers has been elected by the University of the Philippines Tourism Management Society (UP TMS) to serve as the Executive Board for the coming academic year of 2010-2011.

During the automated online elections done last March 19 to 23 presided over by Hannah Sarmiento, the current Vice President for Internal affairs of UP TMS, which had a 96% voter turnout from among the 49 members, Paolo Louies Abellanosa was elected to head the organization as its Chief Executive.

Miguel Sandino Yuzon was chosen as Executive Director for Internal Affairs along with Kimberly Gorospe winning the Executive Director for External Affairs position.

With the newly ratified constitution stating the existence of three administrative departments which would be headed by a Director, the organization voted Joyce Patricia Tamayo for the Academics and Research, Kemuel Rei Ubaldo for the Human Resources Development and Joyce Anne Flores for the Marketing and Finance.

Incoming Chief Executive Paolo Abellanosa expressed his excitement to serve the organization and had only this sentiment to say:

"This end of the academic year is the end of a lot of beginnings that have never ended for the best. Kung ngayong taon tayo ay nangarap, nagkamali, nag-cram sa mga activities at nagtalo sa mga kalakaran sa TMS, tutuparin natin ang mga pangarap sa pagpasok ng susunod na academic year. Salamat sa tiwala."
